• Woody

You can stay at my pad….if you are a girl.

• Woody

.i'll get a hold of fat Tony and he'll arrange to dump your rug….we have a big pond called "Lake Michigan" which can hold a couple dozen "rugs"

• Joe

What a convenient time for this guy to come out with a sob story for the media. I mean wow, I think my three year old could figure it out. Haha, brains people, brains!

• http://twitter.com/TheShortsShow @TheShortsShow

URL doesn't work…:(

• kujhawklaw

Yeah, nice job putting up a website that doesn't exist.

• r@f

yeah F those guys.
EAT MORE SHIT Chik Fil A.
Sue me!

• Holy Shit WTF

Awesome reply!!!!!!!!!!!!

• ryan

Chick-fil-a has a terrible political agenda anyways.

• For sure

Yeah they do…they're all about anti-gay hate speech.

• weirdscribble

lol what? I assume because it was founded by openly Christian people? Because ALL Christians are such anti-gay hateful bigots. ignorance amuses me. The lawsuit is pretty jacked up though.

• Blah Blah Blah

Um, No….It's because they have donated millions of dollars to organizations whose purpose is to actively oppose LGBTQ Rights.

Might want to educate yourself before you go around criticizing others' "ignorance".
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/02/chick-fi

• Just sayin'

Oh NO! Somebody doesn't believe what you do! BIGOTS! Stop them!

• Derp

It's not about that, it's a group of people being denied this privilege that should be given to everybody. Honestly, what would the effects be on our society if gay people were allowed to be married? I say let gay people be married and FUCK CHICK-FIL-A

• Fred Garvin

You argument becomes invalid when huffpoo is referenced as a fact based news outlet.
Hilarious you are.

• ChaaMandoo

You are a dumb fuck, they're run by Mormons.

• Stick

Fuck those homophobic dipshits.
If he starts printing shirts that say 'Eat More Chicken', then fine, but until then, fuck you.

• Holy Shit WTF

"Eat MOR Pussy". Vietnamese are cat eater's.

• Dan

reality is he's going to lose. it's not the corporation, it's our fucked up legal system. The corporation is just taking advantage of it.

• Chad

He might lose the case. But he's going to sell a lot of shirts in the mean time. Smart dude either way.

• Seth_Michaels

I did some reading on this and apparently the guy is literally trying to cash in on other slogans too. He gains attention by getting big businesses to sue him. He's been sued for copyright infringement 11 times. Ha!

• http://www.facebook.com/mike.r.nc Mike Rodgers

You got any links to go with that Seth? Seriously (not trolling.)

• Chris

Yeah, what Mike said. I can't find anything like what you're saying.

• wtf

Keep Calm & Carry On
Keep Calm & Fuck Cancer
Keep Calm & Eat Bacon
Keep Calm & Chive On

Could all this be copyright infringement based on the first one? We're using more than half the words…. just sayin…

• a-nom

The system isn't that flawed, people are just too cynical or don't have enough money to pursue legal action against them. There is no way that the company can force him to stop selling his product. Companies can copyright names, slogans, ideas etc, but as soon as that slogan or name is altered, it is open to be used.

• Stick

I'd consider that a flaw in the system.

• a-nom

System as a whole, yes…not the legal system

• Squints

The problem arises when logos or slogans are similar enough to each other. Yes "EAT MOR CHIKIN" is copyrighted, and look at how they had to spell it in order to get it copyrighted. A shirt with three words, all spelled correctly, and its all a very common phrase (since they had a list of over 30 people they got to stop using it), should not be able to be copyrighted, and Chick-fil-a shouldn't be sueing people to get them to stop.

Now whether this guy was selling shirts and this happened or if he was looking for a fight iono. Though stopping corporate bullying is a worthy cause…

• paulhitchcock

Not exactly correct. If the altered name, slogan, etc., is still "substantially similar" to the original or if its use is "intended to deceive", it can still be considered copyright infringement.

• passwordistaco

Hey dipshits at Chick-Fil-A ! Put some fucking Kale on a sandwich and make a killing, just wait for avocado season to be over.

• Adam

If only the jury was the chive

• Mark B.

He said so slow. I want to go asleep Zzzz….don't like monster.

• Faced

How did that hippie get so fat from just eating Kale?

• Holy Shit WTF

Being a vegetarian isn't easy.

• Duber

He should have only sold them on Sundays. They wouldnt have even noticed.

• 123

lolz, yeah, an chic-fillet is supposed to have their biz based on a family tradition where due to religious reasons they dont open on sunday, like the jews do on the shabbat! Yeah, they are really looking like the catholic church in the dark ages, oppsing their bullshit upon others!!!

• Dan

No, you've got that wrong actually. They aren't open on Sundays because the CEO of the Company (son of the founder) hated working on Sundays as a kid. Therefore, he doesn't require any of his employees to work on Sunday. It has nothing to do with religion.

• negative nancy

I hate when people put a 'z' on the end of lol.

• mike

if chick fil a get away with this then KCCO can start suing lots of mothafockas in this globe! Pardon my english.

• TjTex

KCCO wasn't the first "Keep Calm and …" slogan, it was an old British WWII poster saying "Keep Calm and Carry On" back from the 30's or at least as far as I know that was the original.

• Joe

I pardon your grammar.

• Amarillochiver

Yeah fuck corporations (while I type on my MacBook and drink my Starbucks and wear my Nikes and talk to my friend on AT&T with my blackberry)! How dare Chick-Fil-A have an opinion thats not popular with everyone!

• Stick

No one saying 'Fuck corporations, man. They're like….the government, man!', you fucking dipshit. It's corporations acting like spoiled little twats and overstepping their bounds that everyone's bitching about, an d rightfully so.

• Scaggnettii

a fuckin blackberry? really?

• zach

Its about human integrity and greed not big corporation, Chick-Fil-A has done some shady stuff, and we need to stand together and stop those right wing extremist.

• HUNK

If selling chicken sandwiches and being closed on Sunday makes me a right wing extremist, count me in.

• I don't know

Not saying they're evil but they go out of their way to oppose gay marriage and other shit. That's what makes them right wing.

• J10

Do you sell chicken sandwiches? Or will this be a new career?

• thedude325

Yea…some shady stuff. Like close up on Sunday, sell chicken, and donate to charities. Spooky.

• http://www.facebook.com/evening.s.barron Whiskey Rose Knight

And actively protest against gay people existing? That sounds shady to me.

• Stick

It's shady because they tried to pretend for a while that they weren't donating their money to certain organizations.
Now, it's their business, they should be able to put their money wherever, but don't try and fucking hide it.

• thedude325

When has chick-fil-a ever once protested against gays?

• TruthDenied

they haven't.

They are a Christian organization and people are shocked that they disagree with homosexuality…. they show it by supporting political organizations that represent their beliefs. That's freedom… don't forget it's a two way street.

• WhiskeyDay

proof or it didn't happen.

• Steers and Queers

Amarillochiver, so this is the kind of over-simplified willful ignorance that comes out of Texas, huh? You have missed the point so entirely that your statement doesn't even make sense and somehow it's getting a pile of thumbs up?__It's a case of corporations abusing their power, money and influence unfairly. It's NOT about corporations in general.

• Wood

Actually , Steers, Amarillochiver was making on comment about the previous comments from Chivers, not about the video above. The video is about corporations possibly overstepping their bounds (but if you knew anything about IP law you would understand why Chick-Fil-A has to attempt to stop others from using their trademark). However, many of the initial comments were about the recent media attention to Chick-Fil-A donating money to organizations that oppose gay marriage. He makes a legitimate point that those of us with more conservative values are often labeled as bigots for having an opinion different than our more liberal friends (despite the liberal tendency to rant and rave about free speech).

• somedude

It's not about their opinions. It's about greed, and using money and power to bully and crush a small and local business owner who they feel is taking a few dollars away from their millions of dollar bottom-line. It's all about the benjamins. It's especially ridiculous, I think, that a shitty and unhealthy fast food company is attacking a dude over kale also. Maybe, if everyone in this country ate a salad just once everyday, instead of pigging out on Chick-fil-a or whatever fast food bullshit, the rest of the world wouldn't stereotype us all here in America as overweight idiot rednecks. We'd still be idiot rednecks, but at least we would be healthy.

• Rena

This isn't about losing dollars, this is about some hippie dip shit who has no creativity. This is about CFA taking pride and ownership of their brand. His shirts make him a few bucks? maybe, but he is STEALING someone else's idea, and not even clever or innovative in how he does it. I do not want him to get sued, but i think he certainly should… BE CREATIVE and come up with his own ideas… how bout "GOT KALE"

• Nobody knows

Chick-fil-a has salads.

• cwk

that's a dope Beastie T ya got on mistah.

• Ladis540

Had me till blackberry,lol

• MylesofStyles

Well, I've seen enough. Off to start printing my "EAT MORE PUSSY" T-shirts. Write me in jail. Thank you.

• Chicks need a fill

eat a beaver save a tree

• Dick Salad

Kale sauteed in bacon fat is pretty damn good. I'd honestly take that over some nasty ass Chick-fil-A. Seriously though, it's not like he's got a cow holding up a sign that says eat mor kale… This is beyond asinine.

• QuickWit

Fight the good fight!! Back in 1996 I had Paramount try to shut me down because I did a Star Trek parody at my theatre. It was a live play, but Paramount went after me for Millions of dollars in damage. They'd shut down theatre's all over the country and I was the only one to stand up and say "no". They then tried to bully me by saying that I could never afford to fight them, even if "I was right". Luckily I got three firms in Salt Lake City to do the work for free and things went away, but I'll never forget how they pushed and tried to frighten me. End result for us, we sold a lot of tickets, got on "Current Affair" and "Entertainment Tonight" several times, did radio all over the country and did a lot of Sci Fi Conventions. It sometimes pays to fight.

• sm4rt4lex

I remember that! Star Twek!!

• Giggity

It always pays to fight. Fuck em.

• Rendo

Did it ever occur to you to be creative? Not to parody something? I think my suggestion would be, before whining and crying how the "Evil corporations" for wanting control over their properties, one should take the time, be creative and make something new.

• Zedhere

Chick-Fil-A can EAT MY COCK.

• patov40

I like Chik-Fil-A but I wouldn't mind seeing a corporation like that brought down a few pegs. I think I'll go buy a t-shirt. Wonder if the Chive has an "Eat More Chive" shirt planned. B-)

• http://theChive.com YEMX

They did but they sold out of them in3 seconds and now they are on eBay marked up 400%.

• Justin

Good for this guy!! What about all those, "Got Sand?" stickers and what not that bite the "Got Milk?" campaign. They trademarked "Eat Mor Chikin" and i fail to see how that relates to "Eat More Kale". Dude is obviously a farmer type that is trying to make a market. Chick-fil-a should chill out and leave this guy alone.

• a-nom

Exactly! And this is why he'll win the suit if it ever gets that far.

• HUNK

Probably because sand has nothing to do with milk. Unless there is a strange group of people that drink it for calcium. These are two food businesses. They have something in common.

• chesterdrawers

I will never eat there again…

• steve

instead, just go there to take a shit and don't flush.

• NickiVonLove

I can't stand that corporation. I've protested them even. Preventing equal rights and bullying small business

• Random

But the spicy chicken sammich is soooooooo yummy!

Although, I am torn about whether I should eat there because they are ChristianHomophobic morons.

• Steers and Queers

It looks like you guys are getting a lot of thumbs down from ChristianHomophobic morons.

• Vonger Derellendro

its the corporations maaan!

• Jeff Albertson

If only it could be put to a vote that Chivers could participate in…

• BRW

Take a bath hippie

• a-nom

Seriously?

• YaMutha

shut the fuck up you clean cut conformist

• Holy Shit WTF

Vermont is strong. Myself, being a New Jerseyan, have transplant family in VT. I go there quite often. It is one of the most beautiful states i have ever been in.
Fact's
You will never see a roadside billboard in Vermont.

They have some of the best beer in the world. Lawson's Finest Liquid's Double Sunshine I.P.A. I have just jizzed my pan'ts thinking about it. Alchemist Heady Topper. Walover's Organic. The list goes on.

They have a great economy, while the rest of the state's have trouble keeping up. They had a balanced state budget. 2009. They had a major setback with hurricane Irene. They got demolished. Google that.

They act like American's. Gay rights were never an issue in VT. Please don't hate me and call me a democrat for that. I am a republican at heart. I believe in freedom.

The only thing I have grief about VT. is the "Don't Jersey, Vermont". bumper stickers. WTF!

Anyway. Stay Classy VT. I Love YA. I hope you take good care of my family. Because now they are "VERMONTSERS"

• zack

if the phrase ‘eat more’ is trademarked, then this guy is screwed. you have the trademarkers to blame for allowing it, not chick fil a for applying for it to protect their brand

• Dustin

I'm sorry, I don't see how shutting down a "micro" business is protecting a multi-billion dollar brand. Maybe they wanted him to fight back so they could get more people thinking about chick-fil-a.

• anervusguy

Chick-Fil-a's slogan has more spelled without the 'e'. That in itself should make their argument invalid. I'm never eating there again.

• Samanthajane

um wheres the link to buy his shirts? lol ill gladly wear one. this dude is awesome, plus he has a beard. nuff said

• @lackofabetter

Beards, They grow on you

• Guy Gunsmen

he is an uncreative loser. Stealing someone else's tag line is fucking lame.

• What the what?

Lighten up, guy.

• emini

i've come to the realization i've been doing this work stuff wrong and just need to think of some bullshit to put on kickstarter and have others fund it.
